What boggles my mind is why are the Mavs being suitors for free agents? Shouldn't they be stockpiling young players instead of this win-now mode? Carlisle's winning percentage has been taking a beating in the last few years.

It's not really a win-now move, but it makes sense they'd want to be competitive. They have their two main building blocks and I don't think they have interest in another tanking year, even before they traded their 2019 first. And after all that, trading Wes Matthews for DAJ isn't really the win-now move you're making it out to be.
