You do realize that the playoffs get harder the deeper you go in for many reasons, not least of which is better competition, and McDavid has only ever been in the kiddie pool? Suggest leaving playoff ppg out of it
He led the league in playoff scoring and didn’t even need to make the finals to do it, so that kind of eliminates that argument.

Even if you wanted to remove it, McDavjd still laps him in every other measurable metric outside of a team award

Yeah Kucherov “only” has Point, Stamkos, Hedman, Sergachev and this guy named Vasilevski who’s been pretty good in the playoffs?

Kucherov has never had a single 40+pt playoff performance, never mind two.
He doesnt have Draisaitl.
McDavid has RNH, Kane, Nurse, Bouchard,(both worser than Hedman but still comparable in different aspects and comparable to Sergachyov), Hyman(he isnt what he is doing but not every player is scoring 50+ even with McDavid)
.

But the most improtant thing he has Draisaitl. Its another level.

Kucherov doesnt need 40+ points performance. He has two with 30+ points and won the cup. As only Gretzky and Lemieux. They had Cups too. Lemieux would be just talented but injured player if he would not win his cups.

Its a Cup magic in this sport.

So are you saying is McDavid doesn’t win a team award that Kucherov is better?
I've never claimed Kuch is better in my life. I'm more talking about NHL all-time greats. Even so, not win a team award, the SC, would be a HUGE stain on his resume. He wouldn't make the top 5 or possibly top ten without one. That's just how it is. It's all subjective but feel to start a poll. I'd bet it would drop him spots. JMHO

Lemieux certainly would not just be viewed as talented played with no Cup had he not won

He'd be viewed closer to marcel dionne than wayne gretzky if he didnt win a cup.

Lol what? Speak for yourself with that garbage take.

Lemieux with no Cup would be :
  • 2nd all-time pts/game,
  • 2nd all-time playoff pts/game,
  • 6x Ross, 3x MVP - only Gretzky has more of both, and he had to compete vs Gretzky for these
  • 2nd highest signal season point total behind Gretzky
  • 2nd highest single-season goal total behind Gretzky

Marcel Dionne without his Cup is:
  • 6th all-time pts/game - played his whole prime in the late 70s / early 80s aka the highest scoring era ever
  • Outside top 100 all-time playoff pts/game
  • 1x Ross, 0x MVP - his 1 Ross win he was tied and won via a dumb tiebreaker (Gretzky played less games and had the same point totals)

Lemieux would be the 2nd or 3rd most talented player to ever play the game regardless of any team awards. To even say he would be compared closer to Marcel Dionne is a disgrace.
