Hello everyone and welcome to my mock draft, I have been actively involved in a few of these already this season, and have decided to start my own. We will be holding a 3 round mock draft (if going well, then we will extend it).
Rules are as follows (partial credit to Thom Yorke):
1. One team per poster, no post requirements, just a promise to be an active member
2. Trading is allowed, but in order for a trade to be successfully completed, you must do the following once a trade agreement has been made: first you must send the trade to me, and whether or not it goes through will depend on what myself and two other co-commissioners think about it (is it realistic, etc).
3. Amount of time allotted to make a pick will be 12 hours for the 1st round, and 8 hours for both the 2nd and 3rd rounds (possibly 6 hours for the 3rd round selections if draft is going slow), in order to keep the pace of the game steady. Failure to make a pick in the time allotted (without reasonable excuse) will result in you being kicked out of the game, and consensus picks will be made for your team from there on out.
4. Drafting from the 2009 Entry Draft Class (Tavares, Hedman, etc.)
5. Draft order will be determined, for the top 14 picks, after the draft lottery on April 14th, 2009. Drafting order for the remaining 16 teams will be determined by the NHL standings.
6. Rosters will be current (post trade deadline).
7. It would be greatly appreciated if each GM would PM me with their top 5 possible selections for each for their picks, so that, in the event that you miss your pick, and do not want to be kicked out, we have a list from you in order to make your selection. Otherwise auto selections for those who choose not to PM me a list, will have a consensus pick determined by either the latest ISS rankings, or a vote amongst the commissioners.
8. Remember to PM the next GM after you have made your pick. It is extremely important to remember to do this in order to keep the draft going at a good pace.
9. Contract extensions can be worked out through me or a co-commissioner.
10. If all is going well at the end of the draft, we will turn this game into a free agent game TBD at a later date.
* Side Note: I am looking for 1-2 co-commissioners to help me run this game, especially if we decide to do a free agent game after the draft, PM me if you’re interested in helping out. I need active members for these positions.
* The earliest this game will start (pending all positions filled) will be Wednesday, April 22nd at 12:00p.m. EST.
