Analytics are awful. Who cares, it's one year, doesn't hurt us cap wise. He's a good heart and soul player who will block shots and can PK. nothing more nothing less.

Has Chiarelli actually seen Russell play or is he relying on Bob Green's WHL scouting report on him?

Also, can't play Russell and Sekera together. If paired together I have a feeling that it would cause some sort of binary vortex where somehow the shin pad assassin's shots would still manage to find Russell's pads.

Russell had a 34 point season a couple years ago and 29 points in 68 games the year before. Hopefully he can bring some of that to the team.

Sekera is our only defenceman that has ever broken the 30 point plateau.

I don't place 100% trust in analytics but I do wish Russell's analytics weren't so iffy, and I wish that he played the damn right side. Who knows, though, they say he contributes quite a lot to offensive movement and that his shot-blocking is elite.
