Regardless of how long you believe it was, there's been very little mocking from the organization and fanbase in a very long time. I believe the last thing from the organizational standpoint was when KK scored in his first game against the Habs, and even then, it was something on Twitter.
Since then, Carolina has moved on. The Montreal organization has moved on. Montreal fans remain glued to KK's statline.
When was the last time a top 5 pick signed a revenge motivated (by both the player, who thought he was better than he actually was, and the team who felt slighted by previous actions) offer sheet? 3 years after he was drafted!
The signing crippled our pre season plans of kotkaniemi stepping into the #2 center position after letting danault go. It f***ed us over. Both the canes and kotkaniemi f***ed us over.
In the end it worked out positively. Habs tanked, kickstarted a long overdue rebuild, and Bergevin was fired.
But aside from all of the stupid trolling and pettiness from the hurricanes, this was a dirty move that cost us and I'm glad to see it backfiring. Which it didn't have to until they inked that ridiculous 8 year deal.
They should have signed him for that one year and let him walk
Threads like these are why I love hfboards, habs got trashed after the aho fumbling by bargain bin and again after KK signed with Carolina.
I loved how the fan bases made fun of each other.
Now sadly some people get the feels hurt when the shoe drops on the other side.
Oh and to the guy who said mtl would move down south in 20 years, I am so sorry for how hurt this thread made you, I hope tou can recover and be happy again.
Oh trust me, if kk was putting up 70 points we'd be hearing about it. "Should have matched, got schooled...etc.)
Shit we hear about that with michkov and he hasn't played a game yet
