I'd guess it's more Ryan Smyth than Mike Richards. Nothing crazy, just a small improvement, adding legit depth, to have the Kings in the playoffs race. You don't have to sell Byfield or Turcotte to do that.

Use $15m or so in cap space wisely, and you can keep Doughty happy.

I see them trading for no one. The guys/picks it would take they can't afford to lose at this point as a franchise.

They need to fix the culture and the system before doing much of anything. Maybe it's time to look in the mirror and ask the question, why do players that leave thrive elsewhere? Lombardi was right about players wanting to be in LA for the beach lifestyle and he fixed it which led to cups before they got complacent.
