Slukynsky won't even be playing in Ontario, unlike Portillo.

If yes, Statto can explain it better, but my assumption is he means Slukynsky for the most part will be uncontested as the starter for the next several years. Fargo in the USHL, then Northern Michigan in NCAA.

Portillo will likely be the AHL starter, but will be competing with Rittich.

I don't even think he was knocking him. Just that he'll have many years in the Kings system as a focal point in development.

And I say this as someone who has Portillo and Slukynsky rated higher than the polls.
