Anyone else getting a bit concerned it hasn't ACTUALLY been confirmed yet?

Lots of "It'll happen sometime today...just not right now." Could the deal be hinged on the result of another deal?

Gotta remember that typically other teams expendable players are an improvement on ours. Wiz slots right behind Faulk on our roster, he would've been close to sekera but beneath him as well. He's less consistent. He could have an impact but not like boychuk did. He's less consistently physical and not quite as solid defensively.

Like you said earlier he is a different type of player the Canes have. His point shot skill on the PP will help everyone be more effective. Opens everyone else up a little more.

What I like about Wisnieski is that he is a warrior. I'll never forget him taking a puck to the chest during a Playoff game in his Anaheim days and finishing his shift despite being in massive pain. Turns out he had a lung contusion.

Yeah, Gibson needs to be moved and now that Edmonton got Talbot you have to wonder if he actually will be. Which is, you know, a problem.

What the Faulk

So if no one else is signed (likely, I think), how does this shake out?

What about

Hainsey // Faulk
Hanifin // Wisniewski
Liles // Murphy
Jordan

No idea how Hainsey/Faulk played together, but here you're not rushing Hanifin or playing Wisniewski on his off side.

He played 69 games during the regular season, and was getting a bit over 20 a game. (much more with Columbus than Anaheim)

Looks like he was benched the entire postseason in favor of Clayton Stoner? Or maybe Depres screwed up some Lefty-Righty stuff when they got him for Lovejoy.

He played 13 games with the Ducks. Spent most of the year with Columbus.

His offensive game sounds complimentary to Hainsey's play. Would be a great third pairing on a great team, a solid second pairing for us.

Now we just need to get Reggie back. While, as a Canes fan, I realize this is asking for too much, we should add another good (of at least the same quality as Wis) left D.

our depth:

x-Faulk
Hainsey-Wisniewski
Liles-Murphy
Fleury-x
Jordan-McKeown
x-Biega

and of course we'll see how Savior Hanifin fits
