Going to bump this for a question, wouldn't it be better for the parity of the league to adopt the same rules that are present in the CHL priority drafts? In the QMJHL, OHL and WHL (players are are a year younger than other 2 leagues ) teams have free reign to choose who they please and this can greatly help a struggling franchise i.e McDavid with Erie. Obviously some premadonas would refuse to report to the smaller clubs but this should just be a few instances and can be prevented. Wouldn't it be great for example to see the Kuznetsov, Grigorenko and Sokolovs of Russia with clubs such as Metallurg Nk, Yugra or Spartaks of KHL hockey?
