Since Bozak returning from LTIR, 6 game winning streak keyed by the #1 line

Bozak 14 points in 12 games

Kessel 17 points in 12 games

JVR 11 points in 12 games

Question, is there a better line in hockey at the moment?

They're certainly up there, amongst the hottest.

One more point, and JVR has tied his career high of 40 points. He's going to smash that this year.

And Kessel has been unreal.

Woot!

I'd say Sharp, Toews, Hossa have probably out-produced our trio as well.

They were great to start the year, but in the last 30 days, Kane has just 8 points, Sharp has 16, and Hossa has 12.

LATELY, our top line has been much better. In the last 30, Kessel has scored 19, Bozak has 14, and JVR has 12.

I'd say Sharp, Toews, Hossa have probably out-produced our trio as well.

Since Christmas:

Sharp - 12gp, 7g, 7a, 14pts
Hossa - 12gp, 6g, 4a, 10pts
Toews - 12gp, 4g, 10a, 14pts

So in terms of raw point production the Kessel - Bozak - JVR line is ahead, although it's safe to say the Sharp - Toews - Hossa line is a step ahead defensively.

Didn't know they were so hot. Is this when play resumed after the Christmas break?

Correct. Those are stats post-Christmas.

Vanek - 14gp, 5g, 14a, 19pts
Tavares - 13gp, 10g, 13a, 23pts
Okposo - 13gp, 8g, 10a, 18pts

ridiculous but im not sure why they took so long to heat up, going to be impossible for them to get into a playoff spot esp the way clb and tml are going right now

Thanks, Tavares has to be the hottest player in the NHL.

Foligno - Johansen - Umberger line seems to be carrying a surging CBJ. They're definitely up there imo. Just having Horton and Bobrovsky back in their lineup gives them a really quality team, and this is still with Gaborik out.

JVR is going to eclispe his points highs this season, when I was going through the stats, I was surprised he had only 11 points in the last 12 games. He has been dominant since the Carolina game.

They're actually not producing that much. Again since Christmas:

Foligno - 12gp, 2g, 4a, 6pts
Johansen - 12gp, 4g, 3a, 7pts
Umberger - 12gp, 3g, 3a, 6pts

The Jackets don't really have anyone who's producing at a crazy clip right now, they're just getting offense all the way around the lineup

Yeah I just checked. Bobrovsky is back and they've just been getting a lot of depth scoring. They're missing their best offensive player in Gaborik and they're still finding ways to score.

Bozak is very under-rated. Too bad he missed a chunk of games this season, would have had a career season points wise.

I've been hearing a lot of Fan 590 discussion of Bozak.

They pretty much concluded that the Leafs' top line is an affective line. Bozak is an affective part of that top line. Therefore he's a 1C. No Bozak is not Crosby and Teows, but he deserves to be playing in that position.

There are a lot of great lines out there in the NHL, but the Leafs top line is the hottest (at the moment).

:handclap:

Unfortunately for them, the Islanders haven't been doing so great themselves. 14th in the east behind by 5 points with 2-4 games more played than the teams in front of them. Won't be easy for them to replicate last season

I've reserved my judgment of Bozak over the last couple years but I was definitely leaning towards him not being a 1C on any team, but when he was out of our lineup this year our first line was awful and no one was able to fill the gap he left behind. The impact he has on that lineup was certainly an unexpected but welcomed one. Glad he is back and am able to see the value he has to this team.
