The Athletic had a good article on this last night.

I agree with this a lot.

At this point, Montreal is the weakest team in the East, and outside of Arizona and Chicago, I can't see anyone finishing lower in the standings than us (unless Cole becomes a 50g guy and Price returns to full immaculate health lol) ... it's a shame we won the lottery this year (lightning can strike twice!) because we have a real shot at a top 3 pick next year - I think we will end up with Fantilli ... or Dvorsky (we will be the Slovakian team at this rate)

When I was watching TSN yesterday all of the Canadian team GMs did a media availability except MTL. Could just be standard post FA q & a?

A top 8 pick next year is all I'm hoping for and its a completely realistic outcome.

The only way its not is if Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky and Dach make monumental leaps and we get vintage Price goaltending.

To lower expectations. They postponed last night's presser. Which had to mean...something is in the works. They now have one today to say.....we are still working but nothing is imminent. We are not in a easy situation right now as you could see with the Patch trade etc...
