Kelly Nobes was an exceptional coach. He lifted three programs to new heights. If you look at his record, the teams he coached improved when he was there, and regressed after he left:
He brought RMC into the playoffs and made them a force to be reckoned with, posting consecutive 9-10 win seasons. A few years after they left, they were back to 2-3 win seasons.
He made Laurier a repeat University Cup contender. They declined again after he left.
He gave McGill its first University Cup, and has made them a perennial OUA East Champion and perennial University Cup contender.
Players loved to play for Nobesy. He was fiercely loyal to his players, and intensely competitive. Rest in Peace.
