I think there is a very good chance Kakko could become a top 10 forward in the league. Kakko/Hughes are on a very similar level at this point.

That being said, it's close because Heiskanen is pretty damn special in his own right.

I'd take Heiskanen. Especially for the Canucks, but in a vacuum as well. He's established that he can play at a very high level at the NHL level already, and burgeoning top-pairing defencemen are more or less impossible to acquire. They're just so absurdly valuable. Hard to really go wrong taking Kakko though. He's good.
