One of the most important players in franchise history, right up on the pantheon with Roberts, Francis, and Brind'Amour in terms of what their addition to the team brought in terms of leadership to a young team trying to turn the corner. Hoping and honestly fully expecting to see him behind the bench with Rod here in the next few years. Enjoy retirement Mr Game 7, would kill to be there if the HHoF eventually comes calling.

Williams didn't have to come back this season but he did and we're better off for it. Sad he's hanging the skates up but it was coming and he's earned his retirement. Very thankful he helped turn this ship around and getting this team back into the playoffs, and thankful for his role in the 2006 Cup win.

An underrated moment from last season, sometimes you just gotta score however you can.

Thank you to Justin for getting this team back on the right foot. We couldn't have done it without him. All the Stanley Cup glory, and that's what I'll remember him for. Stepping back into a disaster of a franchise when he was playing for a Stanley Cup contender and pulling us out of the muck. He didn't have to do that. Very few players would have. He did.

As fine a performance as a captain that you could ever ask for, even if brief. As a vet he quickly figured out what the role was and how he was needed then simply did the job.

As a player overall he was always dangerous but his ability to step up in big games when it was needed most gets a slow clap for the ages. Hats off to a classy vet who did it right. Enjoy your spoils, and congrats.

Retire 14 and don’t over think it. He wore 14 the majority of his career. Yeah he won our cup with 11 but it would just do 14 for the reason above.
Yeah, his first period with us was the only time he didn't wear 14, because it was already taken by Kevyn Adams. And I think his biggest impact on this team was in his late career time as a leader, so just go ahead and retire the 14.
