Thank you for the feedback. This will sound absurd for a 7th rounder, but I had a late first round grade on this player.
Terrible usage from a bad new coach caused his stock to plummet.
Janicke is a great skater who is an elite defensive forward. I also think he has much better offensive ability than his usage indicates. I don’t know that his hands keep up with his feet, but he some skill and playmaking ability. I wouldn’t rule out that he could score 40-45 points eventually. He also was used entirely at wing, even though he can play center and should be playing center. I see this as worst case scenario he’s a good fourth liner and best case scenario he’s a well rounded 2C.
Sounds like Darren Helm, lol,.This will sound absurd for a 7th rounder, but I had a late first round grade on this player.

Odds are very low for 7th rounders, if this kid plays in the NHL at all then it's a win. I'd easily take a 4th line PK specialist in the 7th round, hopefully he winds up being more than that. Good luck to JJ.
Edit: The Darren Helm comment is neither a compliment or insult. If you look at the 2005 draft and sort by games played or points, Helm would have gone in the first round in a re-draft. Really weak draft that year.

For sure. I own 3 jerseys. Pavs - Sharks, Pavs - USA, Thornton - Sharks. Love Pavs. Shows what hard work can do.While the 7th round picks are a crap shoot for sure, it's important to remember that some great players have been picked in Round 7. Palat, Hornqvist, Zetterberg, Lunqvist, and Pavelski to name a few.
