Either I didn't know, or I'd forgotten, but Jim Lites convinced Keith Gave, who listened to Russian conversations for the NSA before becoming a Freep sports writer, to go to a tournament in Helsinki, use his media credentials and slips notes to Fedorov and Konstantinov.
Those notes started the Russian 5.
Startling revelation...for a reporter to admit he was using his job to work for the team he covered....
But kind of understandable, I suppose.
