Pretty weird way to ask a question. Why not settle for peak or prime? Or first year? Who knows how long he will play and how much he might decline later in his career?

Realistically, I see him in his prime as a 25 goals 45 assists 70 points powerforward who excels along the boards and is good defensively.

In my dreams, he becomes a great superstar scoring 35 goals 60 assists 95 points with the physical/defensive game as well.

Conservatively, I could see him become a 20 goals 35 assists 55 points middle-sixer with excellent physical/defensive game.

All of those scenarios are acceptable to me. Even at 55 pts with his intangibles he'd be a valuable player to have.

Watched him in one Olympics and one Worlds. He can surprise many. In his prime I see him being well over 30 goals. Probably on average will settle somewhere high 20 per season.

30 goal guy, might flirt with 40.

I wonder who’s going to score all the goals with Caufield on his line.

He might be a 25g70a guy in his prime.

I say he has some 10-20 goal seasons, then fizzles out, like Yakupov, Stefan, or Daigle did. It's a shame, really. I had high hopes for the kid.

Would a player like Rantanen be a decent comparable both in terms of how he generates offense and the type of numbers to expect? Or is Rantanen's offensive upside better?

His size as a winger and fact he was drafted top 5 in the NHL playing in Liiga brings comparisons to Rantanen, Laine and Puljujarvi. Like those 3 I expect a beast for the cycle in the O-zone.

I see a Puljujarvi with a better finish around the net and a better shot.

Laine just has a superior wrister and a crazy one timer.

Rantanen I'd say has better IQ.

I'd say:

#1. Laine/Rantanen
#2. Slafkovsky
#3. Puljujarvi

I'd say his first season, if the Habs keep him he'll get 15-20 assuming he'll play the majority of the season.

Over his career, I'm hoping 30+, would be stoked with 40+.

I haven't watched a lot of him and I'm not too sure what to think
