Yeah, a team of Kucherov, Point, Palat, Stamkos, Hedman, Vasilevski and McDonagh won't be competitive next year cause they lose playoff monsters in Killorn and Johnson.

What do you mean lack of draft picks? We're missing a 1st and 5th from this year's draft, instead we have 2 thirds, 2 forths and 2 sixth round picks along with our 2, 7. Next year we have every single pick along with 2 additional 7ths.

I see it as different phases. Yzerman's approach was great to build up something, while JBB might be the perfect fit for the next step.
