I get tired of spoiled oilers fans.
who have unreal expectations of what org success is.

we measure by playoffs.
there are 22 teams that do not win a series each year.
Making playoffs means nothing if you do not win series.

There are only 2 teams that win championships.
like baseball American; National; World Series
West conf; East Conf; Stanley.
In the last decade 05-06 to 14-15.
only 13 teams have a championship.
Oilers are one of them!
they have won 3 series in that time.

Could be Calgary.
They have won zero.
Zilch!
Nada!

These same people complain about mgmt.
Tambo (VCR trained) moved what little prospect depth we had.

Mact came in and hired Eakins (toronto trained)

The player still on roster from june 2013.
Petry; Hall; RNH; Eberle;Yak; Schultz.

He has turned over the roster in 18 months.
When you look at good orgs GM's they make 2-4 successful changes per year.
Mact deemed 17 of 23 roster positions poor.
A good GM gets the roster competive in 4-6 years.

MacT roster:

Pouliot-Roy-Purcell
Hendricks-Gordon-Klinklhammer
Fraser-Gazdic

dpairs by Best performance results
Ference -XXX
Nikitin-Fayne
Aulie-XXX

Scrivens
Fasth

18 months in there is still work to do.

But fix 17 roster positions in that time.

Please no one is that silly!
Except the people who think Mact had anything to do with the roster before june 2013.
Guys like Jones; Simmons;
Brownlee; Gregor.
we are 9 years from a cup final and 17 other org's have not ahieved that.

When you start to look at prospect depth.

We are starting to see Players establish AHL success.
With them being rolled in at 23 -24 yrs old.
C. Hamilton; Lander; Pakirinen around 1EVPPG when playing together.
Would guess we see them get a chance before the end of the year.

Mindnumbingly poor logic throughout your post.

Next year we tie the NHL record for longest postseason drought, and you think the fans are spoiled? Slap yourself.

Making the playoffs means something because it gives you the chance to win it all. It shows that you're far, far closer to being a cup contender than the bottomfeeders. Slap yourself again.

Our one Finals appearance was due to Pronger and how a half-decent group rallied around him and Roloson. This is not an indicator of organizational success. It wasn't sustained before or after that one season. Slap yourself a third time.

You have no problem winding the clock back 9 seasons to trumpet the Oilers, but not 10 seasons to trumpet the Flames having the exact same amount of success. Try backhanding yourself this time.

The Tambellini and Eakins hires are both stains on this org, as is nearly every (non-first round draft) acquisition on the roster today. Glove slap.

Prospect depth? AHL PPG stats mean nothing at the NHL level. Counting your chickens before they get made into a green omelet. Hundred hand slap.

Eternal sunshine of the stooge's mind. No wonder this team still sells out.

I am glad somebody addressed this in the manner it deserved. :handclap:

To their credit though the Flames are executing their latest rebuild in a manner that should have every Oiler fan envious.
