He's making a mockery of the World u-18's so far...3GP 7goals and 5 assists ....did Central scouting rank him too low? Ranked #34 euroskater ..Off this kind of offensive production he seems like a top 5 candidate from europe (LUDVIG RENSFELDT is ranked #5 eurosskter anf he too is having a good tournament so far for Sweden :3goals 5 assists in 3GP....

70.77% FO's won in J20 SuperElit. Pretty good. Also a decent scoring record (40 GP 15G 19A). Not as good as Rensfeldt though. But will probably get a couple of games in the SEL next season.

This is what http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9009&lang=en has to say able him

Johan Larsson

Birthyear: 1992-07-25 Birthplace: Lau, SWE
Age: 17 Nation: Sweden
Position: F/C Shoots: L
Height: 182 cm / 6'0" Weight: 90 kg / 198 lbs
Youth Team: Sudrets HC Contract: Junior

A strong two-way player with good hockey sense and on-ice-vision. Not overly flashy or technically skilled, but Larsson works hard, passes the puck well and is very valuable in all zones of the ice. A true team player with some nice offensive upside too.

Sweden U18 WJC-18 3 7 5 12 0 |

With that kind of tournament, I pretty sure he is not 34th on the euro list in the eyes of many scouts. Plus, he had 80 PM in 40. Definitly a player to watch.

Johan is a stocky, gritty forward with nice size(6'0 203). He is a physical, character player and can score and agitate. Also intresting fact about him, he is from Gotland island.)))

Larsson is a more complete player than Rensfeldt. He can hit, is a two-way player and a very, very good penalty killer.

A bit offtopic but has any NHLer come out of Gotland apart from Hakan Loob?

Any chance he could be taken in the 3rd round or so? Sounds like he is quite the player.

He actually sounds a bit like Anton Lander last year, although not quite rated as high. Both were seen as not having as high upside as their elite draft peers from Sweden, but solid leaders (both captain's of their international squads) with good two-way ability and perhaps underrated offensive abilities (again, based on his production at the U18's). In the same ballpark?

Maybe in style of play, but Lander has out produced Larsson at every age/level he's played. Plus Lander played in the SEL in his draft year (granted it probably harder to crack the Brynas roster).
