It’s either a broken collar bone or a dislocated shoulder. Sort of silly that they couldn’t immediately diagnose that while he was on the bench. Why did they send him back out on the ice for a shift after the injury?

Either one would keep you out for months.
Most likely a sprain.

Incorrect.

When Couturier got hit into the boards by Ovechkin in the 2016 playoffs, he suffered a shoulder sprain and said he could have returned if the Flyers had advanced to the 2nd round. It was a two week injury.

Surprised that even after his dry streak he was still shooting 20.59%.

Part of the problem is he wasn’t taking enough shots to get chances. 13th on the team with 6.2 per 60.

A little concerning, especially given he just got a brand new contract and last years scoring was based on an elevated percentage too.

Hopefully this shoulder injury doesn’t cause any future issues for him. He’s a good player but he needs to keep playing and improving to match that contract.

Nothing, in this case. This is no different than a hundred other NHL shoulder injuries that didn’t require surgery.

You guys must have the memories of goldfish. You don’t remember Couturier missing the series against the Caps with a shoulder sprain (basically two weeks) but then him saying if they had made the 2nd round he could have come back to play? It all depends on how quickly the player heals and how their rehab goes. Totally standard stuff any hockey fan should be used to by now.

I have a hard time putting stock into what players say about their own injury time lines, especially relative to the playoffs. Players are always going to push as hard as they can to play as soon as they can, even if it isn't in their best interest.

Yeo was pleased with Farabee’s progress after the winger took limited contact during the regular practice. He won’t play Thursday.

For posterity, Farabee missed 17 days and 7 games with his "broken collarbone/dislocated shoulder".

4 goals and 3 assists in his 8 games since returning.
