They lost to the Leafs though :sarcasm:

and Pittsburgh too, and Pittsburgh got blown out by Nashville but Pittsburgh did come back to win with a shutout the other night, nice revenge. And the Falcons were up 21-0 at the half, and the kicker missed the kick, and then there was a fowl, and then he made the kick the second time around, and then the Lions won.

I guess im saying anything is possible

How's Conacher working out on the first line?

And an observation: Garth Snow is pretty much the anti-Chevy :D That fella went ALL IN this offseason... now they have a roster that can actually make some noise.

Conacher is working out terribly on the top line, but the coaching staff is in love with the rest of the lines and they are producing secondary and tertiary scoring, so until Bailey or Grabner returns, I think Conacher will continue to suck the life out of that first line.

And yeah, Snow had an impressive offseason for sure. The most impressive part of it is (at least for me), is that Ville Pokka was really the only legitimate asset the Islanders gave up to acquire Halak, Johnson, Grabovski, Kulemin, Boychuk, Leddy, and Conacher.

I guess you could say the two 2nd round picks have value considering the strength of the 2015 draft class, but Snow & Co have spent years stocking the prospect pool to the point where two 2nd rounders that are probably 3-4 years away from making an impact at NHL level (if at all), isn't what this team needs anymore.

The Islanders need to show John Tavares and the rest of the Isles core that they are committed surrounding them with talent that will elevate them now and in the future, plus our top prospects (Strome, Nelson, Lee, Reinhart, Pulock) are all either on the cusp of making an impact at the NHL level or already all making an impact. Also, Buffalo having your 2015 1st is a nice incentive as well . ;)

Coach Maurice - On Kane and Peluso. Bogosian/Enstrom (Maintenance). How much could his lineup have used Kane? The good and bad of last night’s game. Anything consistent about the fast break opportunities? Nine of the next 11 on the road, are there gonna be any strategy adjustments?

Well http://www.bookmaker.eu/sportsbook.aspx has the Jets as the dogs on the early money line:

Jets +140
Isles -165

My euphoric high after the Avalanche game had me leaning towards the Jets but in the cold light of a Monday afternoon I'm thinking the Isles win by one. Puck line anyone?

I'm guessing Hutch will get the Devils game if any at all. Hope he can play well if he gets the opportunity.

Islanders are looking pretty solid this year. Fear of having your 1st rounder be very high after you traded it seems to be quite the motivator.

100% agree.....plus having a new owner to impress has probably motivated Garth to go for it.

Depends who plays in net against us.

If we get Halak, Schneider, Lundqvist and Crawford, it could be a tough trip. We get some back-ups, we can take a few points, IMO.

2-1-1 road trip would surprise most.

IMO, a 1-2-1 road trip is the best we could hope for, ATM. Losses to Isles and Hawks. Win against a Rangers and lose to the Devils in Shootout.
