He should fit into the team nicely, played 2 seasons with Pionk, another Minnesota-Duluth product. Seems to be a college program Jets have scouted pretty thoroughly, with now 3 players from them.
Looking at basic stats, what stands out for me is that he took 61% d-zone starts last year. That's a lot of trust to get from a veteran coach like Joel Quenneville. Seems like a solid 4th line option, Jets look to be rebuilding their 4th line potential this offseason. No Bourque/Shore/Shaw/Letestu. So far Appleton/Toninato/Thompson/Suess, which is a definite upgrade in the physical aspect.
