It doesn't really matter. It was conscious overpayment for one year. If Kotkaniemi finds his place among the team and proves he can bring in value, they'll try to work out a deal. If not, the Canes payed for a 1 year rental and walk away. If the ownership has money then I don't see why anyone cares.
