So Jesperi Kotkaniemi on pace for 25 points this season... pretty low considering hie is playing on such a high scoring team. So little for 6.1 million
He was obviously not worth the money from the get go. Canes only did it to secure him.
Next year I see him signing for around 3.5-4M$ for 4-5 years.
What if KK agrees to sign a longer than one year contract? Doesn't the rules not apply anymore?Canes have to pay him at least 6.1M$ to qualify him. Right? On the free market I dont see him getting much
Don’t forget the draft picks Carolina gave up as well. Awful use of an offer sheetSo Jesperi Kotkaniemi on pace for 25 points this season... pretty low considering hie is playing on such a high scoring team. So little for 6.1 million
It doesn’t make it any better and ruins the salary structureHow many times do we have to explain this. We -intentionally- overpaid him to steal him from the Habs. We will most likely try to extend him for a lower amount.
No we do not have to qualify him if we sign him to an extension.
Jesus F'n Christ.

Let's be real...it was a stupid move.
That cap space could be used on better goaltending for the playoffs instead of sticking it to the hapless habs.
Nice try lol, thread was started by a habs fan.Canes fans just can‘t drop this topic, eh?
It was a colossal mistake. Kk is going to go into his contract negotiation saying he made 6.1m last season it ruins salary structure. Don’t be dense about it. It probably ruined KK career as well.No it doesnt ruin anything. There is no other way to successfully offer sheet someone, if you dont over pay for them.
Look at the Aho offer sheet. Complete waste by Montreal.
You guys are just salty for no f***ing reason.
We had the cap space so we used it as effectively as we could since we didnt sign Saad like we tried to earlier in the summer.
I know right?!? Our goaltending has been brutal...Let's be real...it was a stupid move.

Carolina being a great team greatly hides this mistake. What a blunder
Cane fans have no issue with their goaltendingLet's be real...it was a stupid move.
