No. Jay Feaster is not a smart hockey mind. Not even close.

Good to see that he landed on his feet in Tampa though. Good interview BTW, He seems a little bit more humble now that he is out of hockey ops.

When he arrived in Calgary that line of questioning about his lack of hockey background was a bit awkward. I think he seemed genuinely surprised that people were harping on it. He was a cup-winning GM and he was having to defend his membership in the business.

His drafting for us was horrible. His best pick during six years was Alex Killorn, followed closely by Blair Jones, Karri Rämö and Mike Lundin.

There are people who defend him in Calgary for some reason. Here is his drafting genius:

He got Johnny. He did the no brainer thing with Monahan. After that, there's been nothing up to date.

Glad that you enjoyed the interview. Feaster was a great guy to talk with and he is doing some fantastic work here in Tampa. Not sure how he was as a GM but he was very humble for this interview.
