I remember making the same comments on draft day and was told to be patient and trust the scouting staff, sometimes you just know when it comes to players like JJ. It's not that different when everyone here knew that Aho was a steal when he fell to the 2nd round a few years ago, if only we traded up because we drafted one of the only guys in the 2nd round that day who didn't play a single game in Gagne.

JJ was definitely the right pick with and without hindsight, and I personally was perfectly fine with the pick, that has obviously not worked out and was incorrect, but Aho was most definitely not being called to be drafted, nor thought to be a steal. He was a huge, huge reach in 2015. Wasn't even in McKenzie's top 75, was the 18th ranked Euro skater, and was ranked in the 100's by multiple outlets.
