South Bend police said the manager of Brothers Bar and Grill told officers she told Beers to leave after he tried to take beer from the tables of other patrons of the bar on Eddy Street.
The woman said Beers refused to leave, and punched her in the face, police said.
She told officers he then stepped on her head, face and neck when she fell to the ground, according to a police report.
She said he then pulled her ponytail, police said.
Witnesses said Beers ran away when they called police.
The alleged incident occurred just before midnight Sunday, according to the police report.
Police said in the scuffle, Beers left his wallet in the bar, so officers called him to tell him they located his wallet.
Beers was arrested when he came to the station around 2:15 a.m. to retrieve his wallet, police said.
