First player to have diving fine announced by NHL during new crackdown is James Neal. Fined US$2,000.

NHL says James Neal was warned for embellishing Nov. 13 vs. STL. No penalty was called on that play. Dec. 13 penalty vs. SJ led to this fine

I hope he's ashamed of himself. They fined him like 20 dollars but to publicly put him out there like that. I love it.

The dive against the Blues haunts my dreams. Glad he got something for this one.

Is he the most hated player in the league? Like by players you think? He's easily the worst diver.

I think the fine itself is probably the max allowed under the CBA.

However, refs will definitely know and he won't get any calls

Under a new set of rules for this season, players will be given a warning for their first dive, a $2,000 fine for their second, a $3,000 fine for their third, a $4,000 fine for their fourth and a $5,000 fine for any and every dive after that
