That sucks. Hoping that this isn't going to be a death sentence for him as an elite player, cause knee injuries has taken plenty of star players in their primes.

Just loving how everyone uses the schedule as a scapegoat for this. Players tear their knees during regular 82 game seasons.

Were his knee problems degenerative in nature? Or did he suffer an injury?

It may have been both, but he had multiple tears in a short time and never got back to what he was.
