Okay so he needs to play 40 from now until the end of next year?

If so there are 101 games between the 19 Devils have left this season and the 82 next year.

But if they do get themselves a bona-fide #1 a la Markstrom, he might not get to 40.

But even if he doesn't, getting a 3rd for their third goalie while resolving the 3-goalie rotation is a good deal.

More than likely going to be a 3rd rounder. For New Jersey to have him play in 40 games and make the playoffs is too much to ask. Would have been nice if it was 40 games or the team makes the playoffs. It will be interesting to see who the Devils add to play net in the offseason.

Oh Yee of little faith...

- Allen's going to the best roster he's played behind since 2018-19. That year he played 46 games.

- Allen is playing for his NHL future, he's going to be highly motivated this summer. Last chance for him to earn a starting gig & one more larger contract.

- Allen and family loved Mtl & how the org. treated them... Extra motivation to do us a solid
