Good deal for the Browns. Lots of money but relatively low term. Draft another tackle @ 10 and the line should be much better.

3 years or 5 really doesn’t matter given that years 4&5 of a NFL contract are not typically guaranteed in terms of base salary.

could have made it a 5 year deal for another $30 mill but depending on performance and injury he could still be cut before then.

Love this pickup with short term. One year of big money and then you can get out if need be. Love improving the tackle situation and adding another safety valve in Hooper for Mayfield.

Honestly Conklin was being talked about as the guy who would be overpaid most in free agency (outside of Ryan Tannehill I guess :laugh: ) so the Browns did OK here.

No long term commitment, and someone they really needed.
