Yeah, totally agree.I mean I really like what Hanifin's brought to the table but it has to be Provorov. Comparing a #3 to a #1/2 here.
A guy who’s already playing 25 plus minutes, can score from the backend and is low key one of the best hitters in the game, no slight to hanifin but this is Provorov no doubt.
He does play 25 minutes a night I guess but it's not like he does well in those minutes. He has as many goals as Hanifin but less points. Hits are also pretty irrelevant when it comes to comparing players.
I'm fine with people voting for Provorov but I feel like it's much closer than people think.
Provorov leads the league in Total Goals On-Ice Against with 82.
Provorov is in a different ballpark entirely at this point. It's nice that Hanifin has found a great fit in Calgary, but he's playing with 3 defencemen who are all better than him. Whereas Provorov is on an island.
