Yeah, totally agree.

Not a slight to Hanafin at all, glad he has been working out well for Calgary....but this is Provorov and its not really a fair comparison.

He does play 25 minutes a night I guess but it's not like he does well in those minutes. He has as many goals as Hanifin but less points. Hits are also pretty irrelevant when it comes to comparing players.

I'm fine with people voting for Provorov but I feel like it's much closer than people think.

Sure, comparing raw number of hits isn't very useful but physicality is a big part of a defenseman's game and if he uses his body well to defend it's worth mentioning. Which Provorov does.

Anyway, Provorov is having a rough season but it's still him without a doubt.

Provorov is in a different ballpark entirely at this point. It's nice that Hanifin has found a great fit in Calgary, but he's playing with 3 defencemen who are all better than him. Whereas Provorov is on an island.

Tbh I don’t think Brodie or Hamonic are clearly better than Hanifin

That's a poor and hyperbolic comparison. This is more like polling Backlund against Couturier. They're both good, but one is just... better.

Im pretty surprised at these results. Provorov has been really brutal this year meanwhile Hanafin has done well in Calgary. If this was asked last year no doubt it would have been Provorov, but taking a step back in your 3rd season is cause for concern.

I'd take Provorov. Things will even out when Philly is not a gong show. Saying that, always liked Hanifin, and it does not surprise me he has turned out to be a good one.

Provorov has had a legitimately brutal season and it's almost no contest who's had the better year between him and Hanifin (Hanifin) but right now, the answer is easily Provorov until Hanifin puts together a couple better seasons than him.
