I was a very vocal supporter of the Hyman contract, compared to him to Ryan Smyth which some thought was hyperbole and said that the numbers were in Toronto were misleading because some were saying that his career high was only 41 points and therefore was only a 3rd liner, but he's exceeded even my expectations.I didn't think he would be a 40 goal, 80 point guy, I thought maybe 30 goal, 60 point for the first half of the contract.
He's now in his 3rd season of the contract and looks better than ever, he's been their most consistent player this season and if the Oilers do pull this season out of the fire, people shouldn't forget that Hyman was the one who kept them afloat along with Kane when everybody else including McDavid was in preseason mode. Also lets not forget that RNH has had an under the radar very good season as well, not a lot of goals but a very good 2 way game.
