If he can be molded in the Janmark/Carrier/Martinook mold for us and add needed depth, I'll take it
Eh, at this point we're dealing with a relative unknown, so I'll go with the fantasyland option and hope he scores 25 goals on the wing in the top 6.

It's a decent start by Lou....I'm all for him signing a bunch of these low risk deals KHL players coming to the US....you would think we would get lucky at least once.

Right now we just need to bring in as many young, fast guys with offensive upside and hope 1 or 2 hit.

IMO he will be given an opportunity to play on the first line. Cizikas showed pretty well up there, and sort of helped prove the concept of a chaos generator/puck retriever helping make the line click. Tsyplakov does all of that while potentially adding a scoring touch that Cizikas doesn’t really have. It also will allow us to play him back down the lineup… potentially in Pageau’s spot if we were to move on from him, shifting his salary to the second line left wing.

Barzal - Horvat - Tsyplakov
XXX - Nelson - Palmieri
Ishakov - Cizikas - Engvall
Lee - Maclean - Clutterbuck

Tsyp looks like he skates like Matt Martin though, and his release is going to lead to a ton of shots deflected out of play.

His skating is the sole reason why he will not fit up anywhere in the top six. He could play a banger role in the bottom six though. It seems like he is not afraid to be near the net which will lead to goals either.

If Lee is going to be on the 4th line might as well buy him out/try to retain him even if it requires retention

If you scramble up all the letters of his name you can spell Jesse Joensuu.
We have found no gem here. Just a guy that had some breaks this year. We get so excited just to have anyone come here .

Based on the highlights, has a great shot and deft hands. Seems to know how to use the offensive zone to score. Hoping his game translates.

From a few of the highlights, not saying he’s a selfish player but there were a few plays I thought their was a better option elsewhere but he shot instead , not always a bad thing but certainly a lower IQ play. Some of the in tight stuff was impressive though

I'll tell u what, though. We've gone from the days of Brian Rolston, Jay Pandolfo, Jon Sim, Zenon Kenopka etc as the big additions, to Barry Trotz, Bo Horvat, Zdeno Chara, Zach Parise, Patrick Roy, and a sought after Russian FA who was down to the Stanley Cup winner and runner up and chose the Isles. Amazing what competence does to an organization

Since none of our guys shoot, this is great!
