I really hope other teams are doing this as well. As much as it sucks for kids not to see the players it's much better to be cautious. I couldn't imagine how the players would react if they accidentally gave a sick kid mumps as well.

The Pens already had a children's hospital visit with Beau Bennett, who is now confirmed with the mumps... not good at all

makes sense especially after all the brouhaha over the pens visiting the children's hospital. for safety and pr sake all nhl teams should probably postpone their christmas hospital visits this year. which sucks for the kids/patients but better safe than sorry.

Bennett wasn't showing any symptoms yet when the Penguins went to Children's Hospital.

About time, the moment the NHL started having mumps problem they should have banned the practice for at least this season. You either have players catching it by visiting those kids or worse they might infect a kid by bringing it in.
