I think it's easier for him to play a straight ahead game when he's playing with someone who can keep up.
I really enjoyed watching him essentially play as a defender in the AS game. He wasn't as skilled as Marner was at blocking passing lanes, but he was much better at keeping the puck in front of him, which was a big reason why his line was +5 over the two games. Seeing his finishing relative to other players was also instructive. One of the worst finishers out there, and it had nothing to do with his decision making. We have to accept him for the kind of player he is.
About every player who has the vision and will to use their teammates, yes.
