The best thing about this move is that Lou’s desperation level has gone from DEFCON 1 to DEFCON 2.

We’re not out of the woods yet.

I have no idea if Reilly is even better than Hutton at this point. As already said….Even decent NHL players rarely hit waivers. At least somewhat telling that no teams ahead of the Isles in the waiver order took him.

That said the Isles needed to improve their D even if everyone was healthy. So if Lou didn’t take a chance on Reilly given the D got decimated last night that would have really been something.

I see that Reilly was in the AHL most of last season and played only 10 games with the Bruins - not sure if some of that was cap-related though. But the year before he played 70 games with the Bs with 19 minutes TOI per game. With only 2 NHL games this year it might take him a few games to get up to speed, whatever his speed is. I'd think 10 mins TOI give or take to start?

He impressed me last night, he can lug the puck out as well as Leddy did. That has been missing from this team. Nice cheap pick up. I think they need to make room for him.

Have not seen him for a long period of time but his stats line does not surprise me. 4pts in 7 games even plus minus.

Nice 6th or 7th D man.

The Isles needed a transition guy. He can do it for now, with warts, but better than having no transition.
