Props to Sorokin not only on the commitment, but committing to a team that leans on him so heavily and gives up a lot of shots lol. Awesome that he will most likely play his whole career here(barring a trade down the line, obviously)

Quick thought he was a King for Life, him and his wife made a stink about it, and now he’s on his 3rd team in 4 months…this last one is just to play in NYC in the twilight of his career and squeeze some more cash out of his final days - the Rangers we’re just that sucker.

feels like he took a little less than he could have demanded in order to keep Varly around .

its too bad Varly couldnt take a little less too , even if thats 2.0 x 4 instead of 2.75 x 4

If Lou had stopped after this signing yesterday, I would have been over the moon. I am also not sure if Varly came as a package for Ilya to sign, but if he can play until he is 39, Goalies do seem to drink from the fountain of youth more than most players. Then The Isles can be rest assured, Sorokin in net for 62 to 65 games a year where he will not be overworked with Varly backing up. That atleast they have above average goaltending locked in. One thing I do know, you can't win in this league without top notch goaltending. Lou's best move yesterday by far.

He’s essentially been a .900 goalie the last several seasons. He’s toast. He’s going to be asked to play 20-25 games. NYR will be lucky they get .500 in those (as expected with a backup).
