Otto Koivula comes in at #17 despite the Sporting News naming him the #5 prospect in the Islanders system earlier this week - and saying:

I've watched Koivula extensively for four years. He's NHL ready. Don't know how closely the Isles' board follows Finnish hockey but he's been one of their better forwards and a PP1 option. So I'm partial to him.

With a prospect cabinet that's especially deep at defense, the road to a steady NHL role might be a bit easier for Koivula, who joins the Sound Tigers and get his first taste of North American hockey. With his 6'4 frame and a deadly shot, he could certainly turn some heads.

Golyshev and Mirageas should round out the top 20. Any thoughts on Ryan Hitchcock??? Undrafted and in the system. He played for Yale and had 9 points in 16 games for Bridgeport. Could be the best prospect not in the poll yet.

Goly and Salo should be getting all the votes here. IMO they're the last of our "meh" prospects and everyone below them is a random lottery ticket (except Ross the Boss who'll almost certainly never be more than a 4th liner)

Add Pastujov

Very interesting to see Mirageas and Salo on the board at this juncture.

Mirageas is closing in on a WJC spot after a very strong true freshman season in Hockey East.

Salo has two whole seasons of pro hockey behind him, one being with one of the worst pro teams in a top league in Europe.

I'm thinking these two are going to be MUCH higher on the list next summer.

This said, same goes for Cockerill and Jenkins while we're at it. Very curious to see if they'll be pushing for WJC spots by mid-December.

IMO Salo is a "meh" prospect far more than Mirageas, Jenkins, Cockerill or Pivonka. Salo regressed hard his draft +1 year, idk how that makes him not a "meh" prospect - the others listed haven't disappointment or regressed yet.

I would bet on one of the the above four over Salo ever sniffing the NHL

I was saying Salo was a meh prospect and the other guys (except Golyshev) were below that. In retrospect, I think that's unfair to Mirageas who I'd put on the same tier as Golyshev and Salo

Yeah we're running low on prospects and still have #19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 polls to go. Feel free to add any young UDFAs playing in the Bridge, as long as they'd be Calder-eligible.

Glad Koivula finally made it. Going Blade Jenkins because it's an awesome name. I may need to resurrect the NHLANHOF (NHL All-Name Hall of Fame) for this guy.

Thought it was 19 for a second.

Add Pastujov his numbers in college were not bad

Blade is still 17, he turns 18 this week. He's one of the youngest kids in the entire draft class. He's had flashes of a player as a rookie in the OHL. Maybe he's a diamond in the rough.
he was a high draft selection for Saginaw, and his team has been pretty rough. Definitely a possibility he continues to improve, especially as it sounds like Saginaw will only be getting older and more experienced this season. Really hopeful they get Bode Wilde, would be a win-win for the islanders and Saginaw.

4 goals in 36 games as a 2nd year college forward are "not bad"? I am honestly asking, the eye test tells me those numbers are bad but I know that NCAA is a weird league for scoring

I thought it was a done deal that Wilde was going to Saginaw.

He was drafted by the Spirit, but fans have told me it is still possible he is traded before the season begins. The last update from a fan with "inside connections" though was that Wilde would indeed report for Saginaw. I am very excited about Bode and Blade's potential, especially the former
