Just plain old terrible luck. 99 times out of 100 he lands just a little bit differently and skates away. Kinda terrifying. Anybody that’s played has had some 99er’s.

As bleak and terrible as this sounds, don't you think Travis might have preferred death at various points after what happened to him?

I can't imagine there weren't time where that might've seemed like hte better option. I know personally I probably couldn't have perservered like he did through that for all these years. Bless him....

Ed Kea suffering brain damage in a game, while he was lent from the St.Louis Blues to their minor league affiliate at the end of the season, then getting screwed out of his insurance money by Alan Eagleson and the NHLPA.
