For as great as he's been this season, Gaudreau was garbage the last 2 seasons. Kaprizov has played 2 seasons. Huberdeau has received hart votes 1 season in his career (and he finished 13th which isn't anything special). For all we know this season could be a fluke for all of them. But yeah going into next season OV is somewhere from 1-6 with those 3 and Panarin and Marchand.

Id take Huberdeau, Kaprizov, Panarin and Marchand ahead of Ovie personally. However I wouldn't bet against him not having a better season then any of them, guys not human.

Not top 5. Marchand, Panarin, Huberdeau, Gaudreau and Kaprizov are all better overall offensive drivers at this point. Probably still slots in at number 6.

It's really hard to say no to this, but Huberdeau and Gaudreau are in Hart-contending seasons right now. You'd have to have Ovie over all of Panarin, Kaprizov, Marchand. That's probably true from a fantasy-hockey standpoint but I don't think anyone would actually have him top-3 if they were building a team.

This might be the best group of LWs in NHL history, no lie. Specifically, this 2021-22 season is probably Peak Left Wing.

Don't think it's the best LWs group in history.

Just look at 1993: prime Robitaille, Stevens, Bure, Damphousse, heck even Captain Kirk...

Or 1996: prime Kariya, Leclair, Fedorov, Tkachuk, Francis, Shanahan....

PS. Voted Ovechkin is still top 3. For now

He's going to be 37 so probably not but the fact that he would have won the Hart Trophy through the first 40% of the season this year is incredible.

I started a thread on the History board to look into this with a bit more detail.

No, very close, but outside the top 5 for me. His role on the Caps is understandably a limited one, and there are a handful of NHL forwards that could put up similar numbers there I think.

One of the few seasons where the RWs are weaker than the LWs. It'll be a shame that Kaprizov likely doesnt get a 1st or 2nd team All Star
