Imagine if he had a personality. Great player but he doesn’t do much to sell the game.
It's not his job to sell the game through interviews he sells the game with his play on the ice one of the easiest players to watch and get drawn in from the way he plays the marketing department for the NHL is so out of touch that the only people who watch hockey for entertainment are people who find the game enjoyable to watch you want more fans let the enforcers come back out, look at Matt rempe people were tuning in just because there was a guaranteed fight.

That is not going to do anything to grow the game lol. Thugs like Rempe do nothing to bring people into the sport... it only appeals to the lowest common denominator and people stuck in the past reminiscing about when talentless goons had a place on rosters.

You can make that same argument for several great players, including Gretzky, Mario and Sid (all who had the personality of a soap dish).
Gretzky does have a big personality but he is reserved and never says anything bad. Very old school as hockey has always been more conservative and Wayne never says anything to offend. Mario did become more polished once he was the owner as is classy and comes across as a nice guy. Sid has matured, and is a little boring. Connor makes Sid seem like PK in comparison...but fits the model of a nice reserved Canadian boy....

Hockey grew more when there was more emotion displayed when you have players who ignite a fire in teammates you get a more interesting product which is why a lot of people wait until the playoffs to watch... strong rivalries create more viewership hell the whole Crosby vs ovi rivalry brought a lot of different fans in

....play night in and night out for twenty years.

Well here's hoping. I'm of the Gretzky generation, I was 14 when he was traded... deep wounds there.

I know it's a common refrain around these boards to tease Oiler fans about McDrai leaving, but it's an easy tell as to the age of the punk kid with the snide remark... I don't think anyone who was around when it happened would actually go there.

McDavid might not be the only player to hit 100 assists this season

Kucherov currently at 93 assists with 5 games to go

Would be a shame if Kucherov hits 100 assists as well as it would really devalue the accomplishment. But having Stamkos on your wing on the powerplay makes it almost impossible to not hit 100 assists this season...

Draisaitl for Stamkos - who says no?

Kucherov has 43 goals along with his 93 assists.

I wouldn't say it would devalue the accomplishment. It would elevate Kucherov's legacy.

After this year McDavid has played 8 full seasons. When he's been healthy the only ones to beat him so far are Kucherov and Draisaitl (Mcdavid missed 7 games in Leon's year or things may have been different.)

For Kucherov to beat McDavid twice, and also hit an almost impossible milestone, would cement how special he also is.

Columbus, Senators, Capitals, Sabres and the Maple Leafs are Kucherovs final opponents.

He should easily get to 100 assists along with McDavid.
