Watching Norway and I'm not seeing it. Why do you need to fling your arms and legs around when you're already going faster with 3 strides and a glide than everyone else? It's a stylistic thing, and it's a load of crap anyway.

I'm sure Ted Nolan likes his guys to have their limbs flailing while they're running around on the forecheck because it looks like compete.

This poll (and thread), of course, is meant to be tongue and cheek. After living through the NCAA championship and now the IIHF threads, I keep seeing posters who are experiencing his play for the first time observe 'he seems to be floating out there'.

Everyone brace yourselves.

Could he move his feet more? Yes.

But, he is a far better skater then anyone else, it's always going to look like he is floating because how long and efficient his stride is.

Number one Canadian rule in the Canadian game of Canadian Hockey is to look as Canadian out there as you can by exerting a bunch of energy at all times. Be Canadianly engaged at all times, show some Canadian compete, bang some Canadian bodies around, drop the gloves and punch a guy... or three, compete, move those Canadian skates, active stick, compete, big body, chirp, drop another pair of Canadian gloves, COMPETE!!!

Also one key huge element to Canadian Hockey... act like it's still the 1970s and nothing progressive has happened in the last 40+ years. Hockey!

Bunch of Ted Nolan's out there wanting Eichel to compete in an IIHF tournament as hard as he should compete in Game 7 of the Cup Finals...:sarcasm:

Why do people get so offended when someone is the slightest bit critical of our prospects? These players are great prospects, but they usually all have some major kinks in their games that they will need to sort out to be great in the NHL. McDavid is the one in a billion prospect who doesn't. Eichel's game does have some flaws. Reinhart's game has even more. It doesn't mean they won't overcome them or that it's even a concern. They are 18 and 19 year old kids. I just don't get why some people get bent out of shape for pointing out that they can improve in certain areas. And, yeah, if you want Eichel to be among the truly elite, he is going to have to figure out that he can't take breaks. So what?
