Speculation: Is Bobrovsky getting CP money?

Would you sign Bob for $10.5m a year if you were GM?

I hope he stays in Columbus.

But.

Given his recent success do you think he is getting Carey Price type of money from whoever signs him?

Personally I think that paying $10.5m/year to any goalie is still ridiculous.

No I think he’ll get like 9.5 and he’s probably increased his value by like a million these playoffs.

You can't pay a goaltender $10M+ and still be competitive in a cap world. He'll probably get it but it's a poor investment in general.

You should probably keep guys like this or Andersen types even while they're cost effective, but anything more than 7-8 starts costing you decent roster players to make room.

Depends on the term given.

7 years? Probably 8.5-9m. He wants to get paid more than what’s he already is, that’s for sure.

If he goes to Florida he could possibly take a slight discount.

Exactly what it should be. Hoping Tallon can push for 6yrs max though but if we can somehow get both Bob and Panarin for under $20 million combined, we would still have space for a veteran #3/4 D in the $5 million range.

Bob - 6yrs x $8.5 million (signing bonus heavy/performance based)

Panarin - 7yrs x $9.5 to 10 million.

Top 4 D - $4-5 million

We have $21 million in space. Moving Pysyk or Reimer creates more room.

Had no idea what the "something else" option could refer to at first but it is my choice. Yes, I think Bob will get CP money. No, I as a GM would not give it to him. Poll question and thread title are different.

UFA stars get paid huge and Bob will get minimum 8.5 per year on a long term deal. I think someone will give him 9-9.25 x 7

He's not getting CP money AND term.

I can see him getting close to CPs caphit on maybe a 3 or 4 year deal, but if he wants 7 years he's taking a discount

I don't think he'll get Price money, but do think he'll get paid well and probably close to Price money. Probably from Florida. 5 years, $9M AAV?

The Price contract has been completely ridiculous from the minute it was signed. I’d certainly hope, for the sake of the league, no other GM is that braindead to commit double-digit AAV to a ****ing goalie.

CP so far has earned every cent of his contract. CP is on another level, just like McDavid is on another level as a skater.

Bob is probably not getting CP’s money, but I think he’ll get close. My bet is 7 years/70 millions

With two vezina under his belt khl execs would probably love to bring home the best goalie in the world. Je may take less if he likes the situation but if anyone thinks they're gonna play hardball they're kidding themselves

Bob would be signed by now if it was 5yr term or 8mil... he isnt unsigned because he wanted out he wanted out because he was pissed after all he has done they wont offer him best in the money world. Bob either signs that money or sees he cant and takes the same price from columbus.

Likely bob makes AT LOWEST 9.5 and no less then 7yrs

No, because Carey Price is very overpaid. I expect Bobrovsky to get a very good deal, though. Quite close to 10 million. And that will be a mistake. I don't think goalies should be paid that much.
