My brother saw this on Twitter, so I thought I'd share (this screenshot isn't from my brother's account). You can go from Cap Anson (who played in the 19th century) to Pete Alonso (whose first season is this year) with nine players if they played on the same team. That is insane. Is this thread worthy? Probably not. But it's crazy.

It's quite fun to do this, interesting to see who fits into this thing; Six Degrees of Separation if you will.

I can do it in EIGHT players

Charlie Blackmon-Colorado today
Played with Jamie Moyer for the 2012 Rockies
who played with Dave Lopes with the 1986 Cubs
who played with Hoyt Wilhelm with the 1972 Dodgers
who played with Max Lanier with the 1952 Giants
who played with Guy Bush with the 1938 Cardinals
who played with Pete Alexander with the 1923 Cubs
who played with Roy Thomas with the 1911 Phillies,
who played in 1899 with the Phillies

Who played with the 1899 Phillies?

I think the point of choosing Alonso was that he made his major league debut this season.

Edit: I'm an idiot.
