So on Insider trading CJ said he expects Gus Nyquist to still be traded because while he is out for the rest of the regular season he's expected to be activated come playoff time

This reminds me of what Toronto did with Reilly Nash, they acquired him to increase their LTIR space.

So which contender does that here?

Who exploits the CBA loophole?

If Nyquist is able to return that soon there’s a risk the team couldn’t stash him until the playoffs.

Also, Toronto didn’t acquire Nash to increase their LTIR space. That’s a misunderstanding of how LTIR works,

Yes, they did, without that they couldn't have added Foligno, or any of the other pieces they did.

i hope the league watches this closely. none of these tampa bay shenanigans.

I don't understand why people have such a problem with what Tampa did, It's not like It's something only Tampa does or is allowed to do.

Chicago did with Kane

Toronto is doing it right now Muzzin, and previously with Horton and Clarkson

Boston,and later Florida with Savard.

Arizona with Pronger and Dats.

Chicago with Hossa, after Hossa actual NHL salary went from 4 million to 1 million magically became allergic to his own sweat, a condition that was never mentioned during his 20 year career but the year he takes a 75% pay cut he's now magically allergic to his own sweat, that was hilarious they didn't even try there.

Zetterberg went from playing nearly every game, If not every game to having to take a 50% pay cut and now his back is hurt.

Point is this isn't a Tampa thing.

His best run in the playoffs was five years ago with the Sharks he had 1 goal in 20 games. He's a ghost come playoff time. Why would anyone give up anything more than a late round pick for this guy, let around a 2nd or 3rd?

..or when Hossa suddenly got an allergy.... :D The league is full of such gong-shows.. Everyone knows it, the league knows it...But everyone pretends they know nothing....:naughty:
We know this. The NHL know that we know. But we make-believe that we don't know and the NHL make-believe that they believe that we don't know, but know that we know. Everybody knows

Yes because nobody wants a 3rd line forward that should be in your top 6 except every cup winner since about 2002 if not before

those are different methods of cap circumvention. the league already did some rule changes with retirement contracts.
