This is not exactly correct. Pheonix Copley looked pretty bad last season in Hershey and has looked pretty stable in the NHL. Vitek Vanecek looked horrible last season with Hershey as well and certainly seems to have righted the ship. I think the Bears D Core is just so young and rough around the edges that every Goalie that plays for them has uneven stats. Samsonov isn’t setting the AHL on fire but let’s also remember this is his first season in North America on smaller ice sheets as well.

As for value, that’s academic as I see no reason the Capitals entertain any conversations on trading him until they know what they have.
