I saw in the NHL tv ratings thread that the Slovakia vs Finland game had 2 million viewers on average watching in Finland.

What have the viewing figures been like from other countries for the tournament so far?

Yeah hockey is super popular in Finland. Round robin games have better tv rates per population than Super bowl in US. Give some contrast of how big this tournament is in Europe.

Pondělní večer pro seriál Specialisté, přes den vládl hokej

CT Sport is also available for some people in Slovakia, so I suppose that the numbers also Include Slovaks watching?

That’s not bad for paid channel. Is it better than regular TV ratings?

That march against Russia was at time many people still work, in evening it would draw 2+ million, plus thousands of people are watching on the internet on ctsport site.

Don't they count ppl watching on the ctsport site either? My guess is it would be a third of total number, at least.

More than 2 million in Czech yesterday according to Czech TV.

For comparison last debate of European elections had just 200000 combined.

Swedish TV: From a couple of articles, ~1.500.000 (peak) against Russia and the Czechs. Just under 2.000.000 (peak) for the quarterfinal game. Around 1.000.000 (peak) for the other Sweden games.

All games were on national TV. Not so sure those numbers are good.

So that means something like 80 % of Finnish male population aged 15-65 watched the game, right?

No, it had 1.37 million viewers on average and more than two million viewers combined.

How do you figure this? Are you just assuming all who watched are males aged 15-65? Or do European ratings give separate values for males/females?

P.S. According to this data Population Finland has 4.62 million people over the age of 15 - so the average was about 30% of the "adult" population and combined viewership about 43% (I'm not exactly sure what combined refers to)

Yes they do, separated by age groups as well.

Wow! I get they can determine whether a channel is on or not, but it's weird they can determine who's actually in the room watching. In all the links to ratings I've seen I don't think I've ever noticed it being divided up in such a way

They cannot, of course. As Mark Twain said, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. It's advantageous for the television "industry" to invent those figures (wild guesstimates and approximations at best), so they do so.
