If you were a player, which number would you wear?

Which number would you pick if you were a player? I was wondering if people were more likely to go for a low number that players seem to pick a lot or if people would go for a higher number that players don't often choose so that their name would be associated with that number. For example when you hear the number 87, you immediately think of Crosby

Edit: I would wear #23 because that is the number I have been wearing for my whole life

I was a dman so I'd want a low number.

2, 4, 5. I used to wear 12, 44 and 55 as well, but I prefer the lower old school numbers.

I'm a 7 guy in football, but for some reason I don't think it looks good on a hockey jersey.

When I played I wore number 5 because i thought the idea of a forward wearing number 5 was funny, also Smid is my favourite player.

My 12 year old asked me what number I wore when I played.

I told him I used to wear 29 from when I was 5 to 12 when I played goal. After that it was 10 when I was D-Man until my late 30's.

I didn't think of it until he asked me this. I have two boys and they were born on the 10th and the 29th. Pretty amazy, I wonder what the odds are at that.

I named myself after the number: 47. The number's always had a certain appeal to me, and you don't see it terribly often in the NHL.
