If Gusev is Here Next Year, I Think he Wins The Calder

Maybe its the fact that he's Russian and coming over at around the same age planarian did, but I think he would be hard to beat for the Calder next year is he came over.

I don't think Patrick/Hischier will light the league on fire next year no matter which team they play for. Granted Panarin did benefit from a McDavid injury and an off year from Eichel, I just think Gusev could do what Panarin did in his first year.

With other rookies like Keller and Chabot coming in next year too, I just think it's a rough year from someone like Patrick/Hischier to take the Calder.
